Volatile Sensex up marginally

The Sensex continues to swing between zones and is now up 10 points at 8,437.

Tata Steel and Jaiprakash Assocaites have surged 4.4% each to Rs 163 and Rs 66, respectively.

Sterlite and Reliance Infrastructure have rallied 3.7% each to Rs 247 and Rs 454, respectively.

Hindalco and TCS have gained 3.5% each at Rs 39 and Rs 460, respectively.

Grasim has moved up over 3% to Rs 1,405. Wipro and ONGC are up over 2% each at Rs 205 and Rs 663, respectively.

HDFC and ICICI Bank have plunged around 3% each to Rs 1,163 and Rs 288, respectively.

 

BHEL has shed 2.5% at Rs 1,331. SBI has dropped 1.7% to Rs 960.

The market breadth is marginally negative - out of 2,440 stocks traded so far, 1,354 have declined and 982 have advanced.
