Volatility continues, Sensex down 98pts

The Sensex to continues to exhibit high volatility and is now down 98 points at 11,703.

Sterlite has slumped over 8% to Rs 308. Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Bank and Larsen & Toubro have plunged around 7% each to Rs 466, Rs 1,115 and Rs 1,008, respectively.

TCS has shed 5.7% at Rs 584. Wipro and Satyam have tumbled over 5% each to Rs 303 and Rs 279, respectively.

Tata Power has dropped 4.7% to Rs 761. ITC has slipped 3.7% to Rs 173.

Reliance Communications has declined 3.5% to Rs 290, and ACC is down 2.5% at Rs 584.

 

Ranbaxy has surged 3.5% to Rs 255. NTPC has rallied over 3% to Rs 174, and Bharti Airtel has gained 2.7% at Rs 750.

BHEL has moved up 2% to Rs 1,478. Reliance Infrastrucutre and Grasim are up around 1.5% each at Rs 647 and Rs 1,615, respectively.

Out of 2,633 stocks traded so far, 1,915 have declined, 661 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
