Volatility continues... Sensex down marginally

The Sensex is now down 24 points at 11,305.

The index is exhibiting high volatility. Earlier in the day, the index rallied to a high of 11,492 - up 315 points from the day's low of 11,177.

ICICI Bank has surged 4.8% to Rs 453. TCS and Sun Pharma have rallied 3% each to Rs 600 and Rs 1,231, respectively.

Wipro and Sterlite have moved up over 2% each to Rs 319 and Rs 406, respectively.

ITC and BHEL are up 1% each at Rs 193 and Rs 1,655, respectively.

Ranbaxy has plunged over 5% to Rs 167. Reliance Communications and Reliance Infrastructure have dropped 4.5% each at Rs 222 and Rs 707, respectively.

 

Jaiprakash Associates and Hindalco have tumbled over 3% each to Rs 122 and Rs 55, respectively.

ACC and Tata Steel have also shed nearly 3% each at Rs 660 and Rs 254, respectively.

Tata Power, Tata Motors and SBI have declined around 2% each to Rs 864, Rs 247 and Rs 1,281, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,469 stocks traded so far, 1,317 have advanced, 1,071 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
