The Sensex is now up 96 points at 10,838. Earlier in the day, the index opened with a positive gap of 134 points at 10,876, touched a high of 10,932, and soon tumbled into red to a low of 10,656 - down 276 points from the day's high.
Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed 7.5% to Rs 114. Reliance Infrastructure has soared nearly 6% to Rs 654.
ICICI Bank has surged 5.5% to Rs 397. Tata Steel has rallied over 4% to Rs 253.
Sterlite has gained 3% at Rs 395. DLF, Larsen & Toubro and Grasim have advanced around 2.5% each to Rs 217, Rs 826 and Rs 1,602, respectively.
Bharti Airtel has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 676. SBI and Tata Motors are up around 1.5% each at Rs 1,141 and Rs 225, respectively.

The market breadth is very positive - out of 2,566 stocks traded, 1,692 have advanced, 795 have declined and 79 are unchanged.
