Wall St bounces back; ADRs rally

The Wall Street bounced back smartly on the back of better-than-expected numbers by IBM. The Dow Jones industrial average index surged 279 points to 8,228. The Nasdaq rallied 66 points to 1,508.

The Indian ADRs, too, ended with smart gains. Satyam zoomed nearly 9% to $1.10. ICICI Bank soared over 6% to $15.59, and HDFC Bank rallied nearly 5% to $57.73. Infosys, Wipro and MTNL gained 2-3% each.

Tata Communicatons, however, dropped 3.5% to $16.79, and Dr.Reddy's slipped 1.5% to $9.25.
