Wall St drops; ADRs slump

The Wall Street plunged on Tuesday even as Barack Obama took oath as the 44th President of the United States. The Dow Industrial Average index tumbled 332 points to 7,979. The Nasdaq dropped 88 points to 1,441.

Indian ADRs, too, ended with huge losses. ICICI Bank slumped 13% to $14.66, and HDFC Bank plunged over 11% to $55.06. Infosys, Genpact, Sterlite, Satyam, Wipro, MTNL, Tata Motors, Dr.Reddy's and Tata Communications shed 4-8% each.
