Wall St ends up on AIG resuce talk; ADRs mixed

The major indices on the Wall Street ended with gains in excess of 1% each on AIG rescue talks. Meanwhile the Fed kept rates unchanged yesterday.

The Dow Jones industrial average rallied 142 points to 11,059. The Nasdaq gained 28 points at 2,208.

Indian ADRs, however, ended on a mixed note. Tata Communications zoomed 11.6% to $19.55. Infosys surged 4.6% to $36.40, and HDFC Bank rallied 3.7% to $81.25. Wipro advanced 1.7% to $10.11, and Tata Motors added 1% to $8.98.

On the other hand, ICICI Bank dropped 3.5% to $25.20, and Patni Computers tumbled over 3% to $8.10. Genpact and Dr.Reddy's slipped over 2% each to $12.43 and $11.89, respectively. MTNL shed 1.7% at $4.04.
