Wall St rallies on bargain hunting; ADRs soar

The Wall Street bounced back sharply on Thursday on the back of bargain hunting at lower levels. The Nasdaq had touched a fresh 5-year low in intra-day trades, and finally ended with a gain of 97 points at 1,597. The Dow Industrial Average rallied 553 points to 8,835.

The Indian ADRs, too, ended with sizzling gains. Tata Communications zoomed over 18% to $21.33. Wipro soared 13.8% to $8.16. Patni Computers rallied nearly 13% to $5.97. Sterlite, Satyam and HDFC Bank surged 11-12% each to $5.11, $14.57 and $61.97, respectively. ICICI Bank gained 9% at $16.17. Infosys and MTNL were up over 7% each at $26.21 and $3.14, respectively.
