Wall St rallies on Dow bid, Infy gains 2%

US stocks closed higher on Tuesday after Rupert Murdoch made a surprise $5 billion bid for Dow Jones & Co Inc.

While the Dow average gained 73 points to 13,136, the Nasdaq Composite was up six points at 2,531.

Indian ADRs closed on a mixed note. Infosys zoomed over 2% to $53.41. Wipro and Tata Motors also finished with gains. ICICI Bank declined 1.5% to $40.29. Satyam and HDFC Bank also declined.
