Wall St rally on crude drop, Infy gains 2.5%

A drop in crude prices saw Wall Street shrug off initial weakness following the UK terror threat, and indices end higher on Thursday snapping a four-day losing streak.

While the Dow rose 48 points to 11,124, the Nasdaq Composite Index gained 11 points to 2,072.

US crude oil for September delivery fell $2.35 to settle at $74 per barrel after hitting a low of $73.90 - its lowest since July 31.

Indian ADRs largely finished with gains yesterday. Infy gained 2.5% to $41.32. Satyam, Wipro, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank also closed with gains.
