Wall St slips again; ADRs tumble

The Wall Street slipped for the second straight as fears mounted of a deeper recession. The Dow Industrial Average shed 177 points at 8,694. The Nasdaq dropped 36 points to 1,581.

The Indian ADRs, too, ended in a sea of red. ICICI Bank slumped over 11% to $16.87, and HDFC Bank plunged 8.6% to $60.60. MTNL and Sterlite tumbled around 7% each to $2.98 and $4.88, respectively. Infosys, Satyam, Patni Computers and Tata Communications were down around 5% each at $26.03, $14.48, $6.09 and $18.77, respectively.
