Wall St slips on profit-taking; Indian ADRs tumble

The Wall Street slipped considerably on Friday owing to profit-taking following its sharp recent gains. The Dow Jones industrial average index shed 1.7% (122 points) at 7,278. The Nasdaq dropped 1.8% (26 points) to 1,457.

Indian ADRs, too, ended with significant losses. MTNL slumped 10.5% to $2.31. Satyam plunged over 7% to $1.56. HDFC Bank and Dr.Reddy's tumbled 5% each at $51.66 and $8.05, respectively. Infosys, Wipro and Patni Computers declined around 3% each to $25.89, $6.60 and $5.30, respectively.

On the other hand, Tata Motors soared over 5% to $2.31, and Tata Communications rallied 3% to $18.82.
