Wall Street ends weak; ADRs mixed

The US markets slipped on Monday amid fresh economic worries and rising crude oil prices. Further, Federal Reserve chariman Alan Greenspan said the US recession could start by the end of the year.

The Dow Jones industrial average was down 15 points to 12,632. The Nasdaq slipped 10 points to 2505.

Indian ADRs, however, ended on a mixed note. MTNL surged 2.4% to $6.43. Patni Computers advanced 1.5% to $23.26, and Satyam added 1% to $22.68.

On the other hand, HDFC Bank and Dr.Reddy's slipped over 2% each to $67.42 and $15.90, respectively. ICICI Bank and VSNL dropped around 1.5% each to $40.98 and $17.90, respectively.
