Wall Street posted gains in a curtailed trading session on the last day of the year.
The Dow Jones gained 1.25% to 8,776 points. The Nasdaq was up 1.7% to 1,577 points.
Indian ADRs were mixed. Sterlite gained 3.76%, Satyam was up 3.3% and Tata Communications advanced 1.7%. Tata Motors lost 2.4% while HDFC Bank was down 1.34%.
