The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensex ended with a loss of 44.83 points at 3,110.08 on Wednesday owing to all-round selling pressure on rising fears of a US-Iraq war and unwinding of long-positions over a long weekend.
Barring select public sector bank and cement sector scrips, selling pressure was seen almost across the board. Markets will remain closed on Friday for Moharrum and on next Tuesday for Holi. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) S&P CNX Nifty shed 12.85 points to close at 1,001.70.
