Wdm Turnover Edges Up 3.3 Per Cent In First Half

The wholesale debt market (WDM) segment reported a marginal 3.3 per cent growth in turnover during the first half of fiscal 2002-03.

The debt segment of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) aggregated a turnover of Rs 4,52,639 crore between April-September 2002 compared with Rs 4,38,209 crore during the same period of the previous year.

The WDM segment, however, continued to score over the equity markets with a higher volume for the second consecutive year in a row.

The WDM segment tops the volume chart with a turnover of Rs 4,52,639 crore compared with an aggregate turnover of Rs 4,48,999 crore in the equity segments of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the NSE.
