The benchmark indices – the Sensex and Nifty ended the week in review with a fall of one per cent. The Sensex also touched its two-month low on Thursday on mounting fears of high interest rates, crude oil prices and earnings disappointment by market heavyweights like SBI.

The Smart Portfolios benchmark S&P CNX 500 index expanded last week's losses and stayed below the Rs 10-lakh threshold (initial corpus) at Rs 9.65 lakh, down 3.5 per cent since the inception of Smart Portfolios on September 1, 2010. While Shishir Bajpai was the net buyer this week, Vinay Khattar was the net seller.

AJAY PARMAR
Head Research Institutional Equities, Emkay

Ajay Parmar's net worth fell further, down 3.7 per cent from the inception of Smart Portfolios to Rs 9.63 lakh. His portfolio has performed in line with the benchmark S&P CNX as he has been pretty inactive with his portfolio.

Out of the 19 stocks he owns in this portfolio, eClerx services and Jubilant Foodworks, amongst his top 5 holdings, were the top performers with returns of over 35 per cent and 30 per cent respectively. The good performance of eClerx for the March quarter was one of the reasons for the rally in the stock.
