Weakness continues; breadth turns -ve

The NSE Nifty is down 66 points at 4,411.

Tata Steel and TCS have slumped 6.5% each to Rs 623 and Rs 803, respectively. Reliance Communications has tumbled 5.8% to Rs 495.

BHEL and Infosys have plunged 4.5% each to Rs 1,693 and Rs 1,533, respectively.

SBI and Larsen & Toubro have shed 4% each at Rs 1,483 and Rs 2,658, respectively.

NTPC has dropped 3.5% to Rs 184. Satyam and Mahindra & Mahindra have slipped 2.5% each to Rs 368 and Rs 540, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel have declined around 2% each to Rs 226, Rs 722 and Rs 800, respectively.

 

Cipla and Hindalco are down 1.7% each at Rs 228 and Rs 149, respectively.

Maruti has surged 3% to Rs 625. ONGC has moved up over 2% to Rs 1,016, and DLF has added 1.4% to Rs 502.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,628 stocks traded so far, 1,393 have declined, 1,157 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
