Weakness persists across Asia

The Asian markets continue to trade in the negative. The bourses had opened in the red, taking cues from the weakness in the US overnight.

The Hang Seng is quoting at 21,871, weaker by 189 points or 0.8% and the Nikkei is at 10,008, lower by 132 points or 1.3%.

Shanghai Composite is weaker by 33 points or 1% at 3,263 and Straits Times is down by four points at 2,801.

On the other hand, Taiwan Weighted is quoting higher by 22 points or 0.2% at 7,790 and Seoul Composite is higher by four points at at 1,632.

The Asian markets have opened in the red, taking cues from the weakness seen on the US bourses overnight.

The Hang Seng is quoting at 21,992, weaker by 68 points or 0.3% and the Nikkei is at 10,015, lower by 124 points or 1.2%.

Shanghai Composite is weaker by 26 points or 0.7% at 3,270. Seoul Composite is at 1,623,lower by 3.8 points or 0.24%, while the Straits Times is flat at 2,805.

Taiwan Weighted is the only exception at 7,782, higher by 13 points or 0.1%.
