Weakness persists, financials, realty weigh

The Sensex has slipped to the day's low and is now down 357 points at 14,322.

SBI has tumbled nearly 6% to Rs 1,361. HDFC Bank has shed 4.7% at Rs 1,180, and ICICI Bank has dropped 3.5% to Rs 655. HDFC has slipped over 2.5% to Rs 2,250.

DLF, Jaiprakash Associates and NTPC have plunged around 5% each to Rs 484, Rs 163 and Rs 175, respectively.

BHEL has dropped 3.7% to Rs 1,670, and Reliance Infrastructure has shed 3.5% at Rs 975.

Grasim, Wipro and Reliance Communications have declined over 3% each to Rs 1,965, Rs 420 and Rs 403, respectively.

 

TCS and Larsen & Toubro have shed 2.7% each at Rs 817 and Rs 2,640, respectively.

ONGC and Hindalco are down 2.5% each at Rs 1,010 and Rs 130, respectively.

Ranbaxy has moved up 1.5% to Rs 514.

Out of 2,639 stocks traded so far, 1,781 have declined, 787 have advanced and 71 are unchanged.
