Weekly Foodgrains Market

Moong dal got expensive, while the prices of gram dal firmed up in the wholesale foodgrains market during the week under review.

The prices of other commodities remained unchanged.

On Monday, gram dal opened Rs 100 higher at Rs 2,900 per quintal and further firmed up by Rs 50 to end the week at Rs 2,950, a net gain of Rs 150 over the previous week close.

Moong dal, after an intra-week low of Rs 6,700 per quintal on Wednesday, recovered marginally to close at Rs 6,800 against the previous week's close of Rs 6,900.

Toor dal (Rs 6,000), urad dal (Rs 6,400), sugar (Rs 2,700,) wheat (Rs 1,800), maida (90 kg-Rs 1,700) and sooji (90 kg-Rs 1,850) traded at the previous week's rates.
