Turning to domestic market, silver ready (.999 fineness) resumed higher at Rs 43,905 and hardened further close at Rs 44,975 from preceding weekend's level of Rs 43,705, showing a sharp gain of Rs 1,270 or 2.91 per cent per kilo.
Standard gold (99.5 purity) opened lower at Rs 19,995, but later recovered smartly to touch a high of Rs 20,110 before settling at Rs 20,080 from last weekend's level of Rs 20,005, disclosing a gain of Rs 75 per 10 grams.
Pure gold (99.9 purity) resumed higher at Rs 20,105 and moved in range of Rs 20,215 and Rs 19,905, before finishing at Rs 20,180 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 20,095, showing a rise of Rs 85 per 10 grams.
