Dry fruits: Almond and cashew prices declined on the wholesale dry fruits market during the week under review, due to the fall in demand from local traders and stockists at existing higher levels.
Analysts said sentiments turned bearish following fall in demand from stockists and retailers at higher prices. Increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices, they added.
Almond california prices fell by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 9,900 per 40 kg, while its kernel traded lower by Rs 5 to Rs 345-355 from previous week's mark of Rs 350-360 per kg, on increase in arrivals.
Cashew kernel (No 180, 210, 240, and 320) prices fell by Rs 15 each to settle at Rs 620-630, Rs 585-595, Rs 520-530, and Rs 435-455, respectively.
Its pieces (2, 4 and 8) also eased by Rs 5 each to finish at Rs 435-440, Rs 385-420, and Rs 275-345 per kg, respectively, on subdued demand. Chigoza-roasted drifted by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 1,400-1,500 per 40 kg.
Copra prices eased by Rs 50 to conclude at Rs 7,900-8,000 per quintal.
Kishmish Indian yellow and green also traded lower by up to Rs 200 to settled at Rs 3,500-4,100 and Rs 4,800-6,800 per 40 kg, respectively.
Likewise, Pistachio hairati and peshawari fell by Rs 5 per kg to close at Rs 995-1,115 and Rs 1,295-1,345 per kg, respectively.
Kirana: Select spices depicted a weak trend in the national capital, during the week under review, on stockists selling against slow down in buying activity at prevailing higher levels, and closed with widespread losses.
Sentiments turned weak on adequate stocks position following increased arrivals. Besides, subdued trend in the producing belts also put pressure on the select spice prices, traders said.
Black pepper prices declined by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 23,500-23,700 per quintal, on reduce offtake.
Cardamom brown-jhundiwali and kanchicut prices fell by up to Rs 50 to settle at Rs 1,020-1,030 and Rs 1,100-1,250 per kg, respectively.
Cardamom small varieties such as chitridar, colour robin, bold, and extra bold prices declined by up to Rs 60 to close at Rs 1,010-1,030, Rs 990-1,080, Rs 1,000-1,050, and Rs 1,100-1,200 per kg, respectively.
Dry ginger and kalaunji traded lower at Rs 19,500-21,000 and Rs 10,800-11,800, respectively, against previous closing of Rs 20,000-21,500 and Rs 11,000-12,000 per quintal, respectively.
Red chilli and turmeric prices declined by up to Rs 200 to settled at Rs 7,300-12,800 and Rs 13,400-16,700 per quintal, respectively.
Likewise, jeera common and best quality prices traded lower by Rs 200 each to finish at Rs 15,800-16,000 and Rs 17,300-18,300 per quintal, respectively.
