Jaggery: Weak conditions developed on the wholesale gur market during the past week as most of gur varieties declined on sluggish demand against adequate stocks positions following increased arrivals from producing region.

Traders said increased arrivals from producing region amid reduced offtake by stockists and retailers mainly led to decline in wholesale gur prices.

At Delhi, gur shakkar prices declined by Rs 50 to Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal.

However, gur chakku, pedi and dhayya varieties remained stable at Rs 2,250-2,300, Rs 2,250-2,300 and Rs 2,300-2,350 per quintal in restricted buying activity.

In Muzzafarnagar, gur raskat, chakku and khurpa were down by Rs 50 each to Rs 1,700-1,800, Rs 2,000-2,200 and Rs 1,950-2,000 per quintal, respectively.

At Muradnagar, gur dhayya also weakened by Rs 50 to Rs 2,050-2,100 per quintal.
