Wheat arrival picks up in Haryana

Wheat arrival in Haryana has picked up, as over 3.32 lakh tonnes of the crop arrived in various mandis of the state yesterday. 

Total wheat arrival has reached to the level of over 8.20 lakh tonnes, Food and Supplies Department spokesman said. Over 8.19 lakh tonnes of wheat had been purchased by the six government procuring agencies at minimum support price.

The remaining 989 tonnes of wheat was purchased by the traders, he said.  

Over 2.39 lakh tonnes of wheat has been purchased by HAFED, over 1.99 lakh tonnes by Food and Supplies Department, over 1.79 lakh tonnes by Food Corporation of India.

 

Haryana Warehousing Corporation purchased 84,162 tonnes of the crop, Agro Industries purchased 60,682 tonnes and 56,006 tonnes was purchased by CONFED, he said.

District Kaithal is leading in wheat arrival where 71,908 tonnes of the crop has arrived so far in mandis, followed by Karnal where 54,949 tonnes of wheat has arrived in the mandis, he added.
