Wheat arrivals pick up in Haryana

Total wheat arrivals in Haryana have crossed 46.47 lakh metric tonne with the fresh arrival of over 4.32 lakh metric tonne of wheat in various mandis of the state yesterday. 

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the State Food and Supplies Department said that over 46.46 lakh metric tonne of wheat has been purchased by the six government procurement agencies at the minimum support price and 1,122 metric tonne of wheat by traders. 

Over 15.98 lakh metric tonne of wheat has been purchased by HAFED, over 12.05 lakh metric tonne by the Food and Supplies Department, over 6.54 lakh metric tonne by Food Corporation of India, over 4.47 lakh metric tonne by Agro Industries, over 4.31 lakh metric tonne by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and over 3.09 lakh metric tonne by CONFED, he added.

 

The spokesman said that Sirsa district was leading in terms of wheat arrivals, with over 5.50 lakh metric tonne of wheat arriving in the mandis so far, followed by Kaithal, where over 5.11 lakh metric tonne of wheat has arrived in the mandis.
