Wheat and its product prices declined in the wholesale grains market today on adequate stocks following increased arrivals from the producing belts amid reduced offtake.
Maize also eased on lack of buying support.
Traders said adequate stocks position following increased supplies on expectations of higher output this season amid reduced offtake by flour mills led to the decline in wholesale wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara(for mills) declined by Rs 5 to Rs 1,330-1,335, while atta chakki delivery followed suit andtraded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,340-1,345 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills and maida also lost Rs 20 each to Rs 720-740 and Rs 780-810 per 50 kg. Maize too traded in negative zone with a fall of Rs 50 to Rs 1,100-1,110 per quintal.
