Wheat rises on tight supply, festive demand

Wheat dara prices rose by Rs 10 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on fresh buying by flour mills to meet the rising festive demand against tight supply.

Sooji followed suit and traded higher. Traders said fresh buying by flour mills to meet increased demand from flour mills against restricted arrivals, mainly led to a rise in wholesale wheat dara prices.

Wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1,260-1,265 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery traded higher to Rs 1,265- 1,270 per 90 kg, flour mills inched up by Rs 5 to Rs 675-695 per 50.

 

Sooji also seen in festive demand and gained Rs 10 to Rs 885-905 per 50 kg.
