Wonderla Holidays has soared 8% to Rs 210 on back of heavy volumes in otherwise weak market on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
The stock opened at Rs 195 and hit a high of Rs 222, also highest level since its listing earlier this month. Till 1340 hours, combined 2.75 million shares representing 4.8% of total equity of Wonderla Holidays changed hands on NSE and BSE.
On 9 May 2014, Wonderla Holidays, the amusement park operator, shares listed at Rs 160, up 28%, against its issue price of Rs 125 apiece. Since then, the stock has rallied 34% compared to 6% rise in benchmark CNX Nifty.
Wonderla is promoted by Arun Kochouseph Chittilappilly and Kochouseph Chittilappilly, who founded V-Guard Industries.
The promoters hold a 70.97% stake in the company. Individual investors, the second largest shareholders, held 13.22% holding, followed by bodies corporate (5.62%), mutual funds and UTI (3.7%), foreign institutional investors (2.62%) and financial institutions including banks (1.32%). The remaining 2.55% stakes are with the trusts and non resident Indians.
