Zinc futures today traded 0.57% higher at Rs 106.65 per kg as participants enlarged positions, driven by a firming trend in entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the October contract for zinc edged up by 60 paise, or 0.57%, to Rs 106.65 per kg, with a turnover of 1,792 lots.

The November contract traded higher by 55, or 0.51%, to Rs 107.50 per kg, with a turnover of 76 lots.

Marketmen said gains in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) and a pick-up in domestic demand influenced zinc futures prices.

At the LME, zinc rose $7, or 0.34%, to $2,041 per tonne.
