Zinc decline by 0.5% on lower global trend

Speculators offloaded their positions in tandem with a weak global trend

Zinc prices declined by 0.48% to Rs 124.05 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions on the back of lower global trend.
 
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in September declined by 60 paise, or 0.48% to Rs 124.05 per kg in business turnover of 130 lots.
 
Likewise, the metal for delivery in August weakened by 50 paise, or 0.41% to Rs 122.95 per kg in 1,266 lots.
 
Market analysts said speculators offloaded their positions in tandem with a weak global trend, which mainly led to decline in zinc prices at futures trade.
 
 
Meanwhile, Zinc retreated 0.8% to $1,973 a tonne at the London Metal Exchange.
