Tracking a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange amid sluggish demand, zinc prices fell by 0.43% to Rs 104.10 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October declined by 45 paise, or 0.43%, to Rs 104.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 21 lots.

The September contract shed 40 paise, or 0.39%, to Rs 103.45 per kg in 15 lots, while delivery in August shed 70 paise, or 0.29%, to Rs 102.65 per kg, with a turnover of 41 lots.

Marketmen said the decline in zinc futures to a weak trend in the entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on speculation that US policy makers will not embark on a fresh round of stimulus, weighed down zinc prices at futures trade here.
