Zinc futures edged lower by 0.32% to Rs 123.05 per kg today amid a firm global trend as speculators trimmed positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April shed 40 paise, or 0.32%, to Rs 123.05 per kg, with a business turnover of 592 lots.
The metal for delivery in May fell 35 paise, or 0.28%, to Rs 123.95 per kg, with a business turnover of nine lots.
Marketmen said besides subdued demand in the spot market, a weakening trend in most industrial metals overseas after data showed economic expansion in China eased to the slowest pace in six quarters, fuelling concern that demand from the largest user will weaken, led to fall in zinc prices at futures trade.
