Zinc down 0.3% on subdued demand, global cues

Metal prices for delivery in September traded lower by 0.13%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc futures prices today fell 0.3% to Rs 116.80 per kg as speculators trimmed positions amid sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc prices for delivery in October declined by 35 paise, or 0.30%, to Rs 116.80 per kg in business turnover of 36 lots.

Likewise, zinc prices for delivery in September traded lower by 15 paise, or 0.13%, to Rs 115.50 per kg in 274 lots.

Market analysts said besides sluggish domestic demand in the spot market, weak trend in base metals overseas on slowing demand in China before next week's holidays, mainly weighed on zinc futures here.
