Zinc down 0.5% on global cues

Prices fell as participants reduced their positions

Zinc futures for April traded lower by 55 paise, or 0.54%, to Rs 101.10 per kg in 1,119 lots.     

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contract fell by 45 paise, or 0.53%, to trade at Rs 102.55 per kg in 62 lots.

Prices fell as participants reduced their positions.

Weak trend in copper and other base metals overseas on concern that demand from China, the biggest user, will weaken affected the trade.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) had cut China's forecast.
