Zinc down 1.3% on global cues

Prices fell as subdued domestic demand

Zinc futures for May traded lower by Rs 1.30, or 1.33%, to Rs 100.20 per kg in 247 lots.     

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the April contract fell by Rs 1.45, or .25% to Rs 98.65 per kg in 2,855 lots.

Zinc prices fell as speculators reduced their positions amid subdued domestic demand.

At the London Metal Exchange (LME) zinc lost 3.2%.

Weak trend overseas where base metals weakened were triggered on demand concern as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) lowered its outlook for world economy.
