Zinc remained weak and traded 0.19 per cent down at Rs 103.45 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in offloading their positions, driven by a weak trend at the London Metal Exchange.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc for delivery in December fell further by 20 paise, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 103.45 per kg, with a business turnover of 18 lots.

Similarly, zinc for January delivery also shed 15 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 104.65 per kg, with a business turnover of four lots.

At the London Metal Exchange platform, zinc dropped 1.6 per cent to $2,273 a tonne.

Market analysts said weak trend in zinc at the London Metal Exchange and subdued domestic demand, led to a fall in zinc futures prices here.
