Zinc futures prices declined by 1.50 per cent to Rs 108.05 per kg today, as traders offloaded their positions ahead of monthly expiry along with weak trend in global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc delivery for October traded Rs 1.65, or 1.50 per cent, down at Rs 109.70 per kg, with a business turnover of 21 lots.
Similarly, zinc for delivery in November also drifted by Rs 1.50, or or 1.35 per cent, to Rs 109.05 per kg, with a business turnover of seven lots.
Analysts said winding-up of positions in view of monthly settlement and weak trend in the entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange were responsible for the fall in zinc futures prices here.
