Zinc futures prices drifted by 1 per cent to Rs 104.20 per kg today, taking weak cues from global markets, amid profit booking by speculators.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc for delivery in December fell by Rs 1.05, or 1 per cent, to Rs 104.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 36 lots.

The metal for January delivery also shed 90 paise, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 105.45 per kg, with a business turnover of 13 lots.

Market analysts said a weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange and subdued domestic demand, mainly led to the fall in zinc futures prices here.
