Zinc futures traded Rs 0.60 or 0.75 per cent higher at Rs 85.35 per kg, supported by good demand at spot markets amid recovery in base metals overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc for delivery in June and July contracts rose by Rs 0.60, or 0.75 per cent each to Rs 85.35 and Rs 86.45 per kg, with a turnover of 1,399 and 108 lots, respectively.

Analysts said good demand from the consuming industries at domestic markets and recovery in base metals at the London Metal Exchange after positive US home sales and auto numbers, pushed up zinc prices in futures trade here.
