Taking negative cues from the global markets, zinc prices slipped marginally by 0.58 per cent to Rs 112.05 per kg in futures trading today.
Also, sluggish spot demand weighed on the zinc futures prices here.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for April contract traded marginally lower by 65 paise, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 112.05 per kg, with business turnover of three lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in March contract weakened by 60 paise, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 111 per kg, with a business volume of 10 lots.
Market analysts said a weak trend in the entire base metals in the global markets in tandem with sluggish demand at the domestic market, mainly led to the fall in zinc futures prices here.
Meanwhile, zinc lost 0.2 per cent to $2,456 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
