Zinc futures rose by 0.35% to Rs 99.30 per kg today, tracking gains in entire base metals pack on the London Metal Exchange and rising domestic demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, January zinc gained 35 paise, or 0.35%, to Rs 99.30 per kg, with a turnover of 337 lots.
The February delivery strengthened by a similar margin to Rs 100.25 per kg, with a turnover of 5 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in zinc futures prices to a firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange as an expansion in China's manufacturing boosted expectations that demand for industrial metals will rise in the world's second-largest economy.
