Amid profit-booking by speculators and subdued spot demand, zinc futures prices declined by 0.68 per cent to Rs 101.90 per kg today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc for delivery in January fell by 70 paise, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 101.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 78 lots.

Similarly, zinc for December delivery also slid by 65 paise, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 100.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,580 lots.

Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators and weak trend in other base metals, mainly led to a fall in zinc prices.
