Zinc futures prices showed some signs of recovery and rose by Rs 0.25, or 0.33 per cent to Rs 76.90 per kg on short-covering by speculators.
Pick up in demand from consuming industries at physical markets also supported the recovery in zinc futures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc for delivery in June contract traded Rs 0.25 or 0.33 per cent higher at Rs 76.90 per kg, with a turnover of 8,847 lots.
Similarly, July contract rose by Rs 0.15, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 78 per kg, with a turnover of 774 lots.
Analysts said pick up in demand from the consuming industries at domestic markets and covering up of pending positions by speculators, helped zinc futures prices to recover.
