Zinc prices rose by Rs 1.30 or 1.58 per cent to Rs 83.60 per kg in futures market today on fresh buying by traders followed by good demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for July-month contract rose Rs 1.30, or 1.58 per cent to Rs 83.60 per kg, with an open interest of 970 lots.

The metal for delivery in June contract also gained Rs 1.25 or 1.25 per cent to Rs 82.35 per kg, with an open interest of 7,998 lots.

Market analysts said fresh buying by traders due to pick up in demand helped zinc prices to gain fresh ground at futures trade.
