In range-bound movements, zinc prices edged down by 0.05% to Rs 109.85 per kg in futures trade today as speculators adopted a cautious approach ahead of monthly expiry.

Subdued spot markets demand also kept pressure on the zinc futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for July delivery traded lower by 5 paise, or 0.05%, to Rs 109.85 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,118 lots.

Similarly, the metal for August delivery moved down by 5 paise, or 0.05%, to Rs 110.75 per kg, with a business volume of 248 lots.

Market analysts said a weakening trend in the base metals at the spot markets amid absence of positive cues from global market, mainly put pressure on zinc futures prices.
