Zinc marginally down on weak global cues

Taking negative cues from global markets and subdued domestic market demand, zinc futures prices today moved down by 0.21% to Rs 95.75 per kg.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, December zinc traded 20 paise, or 0.21% lower, at Rs 95.75 per kg, with a business turnover of 50 lots.

The November delivery also shed 5 paise, or 0.05%, to Rs 94.90 per kg, with a trade volume of 1,209 lots.

At the LME, zinc fell 0.6% to $1,916.25 per tonne in early trade today.

Analysts said a weakness in most of the base metals at the London Metal Exchange amid fears that the Eurozone debt crisis will worsen and damp the demand for metals.
