Zinc rises 0.55% in futures trade

Tracking global trend and strong spot demand at local markets, zinc futures traded 0.55 per cent higher at Rs 100.05 per kg per kg. 

Analysts said apart from strong demand at physical markets, firming trend in base metals after the strong Chinese economic data, also influenced the zinc futures prices here.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, zinc for delivery in September contract traded 55 paisa, or 0.55 per cent higher, to Rs 100.05 per kg, with a turnover of 6,881 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in October contract also edged higher by 50 paisa, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 101.15 per kg, clocked a turnover of 670 lots.
