Zinc futures fell by 0.75 per cent, or 75 paise, to Rs 98.85 per kg today, as speculators locked in profits amid weak trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc for September and October slipped by 75 paise, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 98.85 and Rs 99.90 per kg, with a turnover of 7,080 and 739 lots, respectively.

Analysts said emergence of profit-booking by speculators and weak trend at spot markets on slack demand mainly weighed on the zinc futures prices here.
