Zinc up 0.6% on overseas cues

Prices rose as speculators enlarged positions

Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.60% to Rs 108.25 per kg amid a firm global trend and better domestic demand, as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract edged up by 65 paise, or 0.60%, to Rs 108.25 per kg in 1,069 lots.

The July contract rose marginally by 50 paise to Rs 103.80 per kg in 36 lots.

Marketmen said improved demand in the spot market amid a firming trend in base metals overseas, supported the rise in metal prices at futures trade.
